About Stanley Ho

DevOps engineer focused on Azure platforms that stay reliable under load — with concrete cost, scale, and delivery outcomes.

Stanley Ho

I build and run cloud platforms that stay reliable under pressure. At Graphnet I supported England’s National Immunisation Management System (NIMS) — the national flu and Covid vaccination platform — through 279M+ vaccination events. At Frontiers I found an Azure backup misconfiguration worth about $250k a year, and I keep shipping with Terraform, Kubernetes, and pragmatic AI tooling that reduces toil without adding noise.

Core values

Excellence

Committed to delivering high-quality solutions and maintaining the highest standards in all projects.

Innovation

Always exploring new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and solve complex problems.

Collaboration

Believe in the power of teamwork and open communication to achieve shared goals and success. Building relationships with people is key to success.

Technical philosophy

Infrastructure as Code

Treating infrastructure as code using Terraform and PowerShell DSC to ensure consistency, repeatability, and version control of all infrastructure components.

Monitoring & Observability

Proactive monitoring is essential for system reliability. I implement comprehensive solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic to ensure issues are identified and resolved before they impact users. Proactive > Reactive.

Automation & Efficiency

Automation is key to scaling operations efficiently. I focus on building automated CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and operational workflows that reduce manual work, increase reliability, and minimize human error.

Guiding principles

Adoption of AI (with caution)

Leveraging AI to reduce TOIL and boost productivity — not to replace the human element, but to enhance it. I avoid adding AI for its own sake, as it can drive unnecessary complexity, cost, and tunnel vision.

K.I.S.S Principle

Keep it simple. Don't overcomplicate things. Simple solutions are easier to understand, maintain, and scale.

Knowledge Sharing

Knowledge sharing is fundamental to a team's success. I believe in sharing expertise to help others grow, while continuously learning from teammates. Clear SOPs and thorough documentation are essential for consistency and long-term success.

Disaster Recovery

Always have a plan B. Prepare for the worst-case scenario — and hope it's never needed.
